ABOUT US

A little bit of history

Named after a family of local landowners, The Freke Arms was built in the early 1800s on the instructions of (then known) Henry Freke to entice the farm workers over from the nearby Quaker village of Stanton Fitzwarren.

Bought by Arkell's in 1892 and altered to its present state in 1966, it still retains much of its character of pubs of that era, one of its main attractions with customers of all ages. Traditional food and a warm, friendly welcome are two more of the trademarks of this comfortable and genuinely unspoilt pub.

NEW LANDLORD - FANTASTIC FOOD & SERVICE. WE'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK!
